DETROIT, July 2 /PRNewswire/ — The Detroit Economic Club is pleased to
host The Honorable Steve Preston, Secretary, U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development on Wednesday, July 9, 2008. The speech will begin at
12:30 p.m. and will be held at the MGM Grand Detroit in Detroit, MI.

Secretary Preston will discuss the current turbulence in the housing
market, with particular attention paid to Detroit and the State of
Michigan. Then, he will discuss current efforts by the Bush Administration
and Congress to address foreclosure and liquidity problems. He will outline

the housing market on a more secure and stable foundation for future
growth.
