Governor Beshear Announces Rancho Poultry to Locate Food Processing Facility in Lebanon, KY
Project will create approximately 250 jobs, invest over $43 million in the
region
FRANKFORT, Ky., July 3 /PRNewswire/ — Governor Steve Beshear and
Economic Development Cabinet Secretary John Hindman today announced the
location of Rancho Poultry LLC to Marion County. The food processor will
create approximately 250 new employment opportunities as a result of the
project, investing over $43 million in the commonwealth.
“The location of Rancho Poultry to the Marion County community will
produce hundreds of employment opportunities and represents a tremendous
capital investment in the commonwealth,” said Gov. Beshear. “We welcome
them and look forward to assisting the company as it establishes itself and
grows in south central Kentucky.”
Rancho Poultry is a major supplier of processed chicken to restaurants
and food stores and counts McDonald’s among its customers. The company
plans to construct a 100,000 square-foot facility on 25 acres in Lebanon.
Two processing lines will be installed capable of producing 60 million
pounds of partially cooked, battered and breaded chicken products. An
additional third product line is already being considered by the company,
which would add an additional 50 jobs.
“We are excited and proud to become members of the Lebanon community,”
said Ed Sanchez, president and CEO, Rancho Poultry LLC. “We intend to be a
world-class company of which our workforce will be proud to call Rancho
Poultry their employer.”
The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority granted final
approval to Rancho Poultry in June 2008, for tax benefits up to $7.5
million under the Kentucky Rural Economic Development Act, a program
designed to increase manufacturing employment in the state.
“The addition of Rancho Poultry to Marion County’s corporate landscape
will provide a tremendous boost to the local economy,” said Secretary
Hindman. “The Cabinet is pleased to partner with Lebanon/Marion County and
Rancho Poultry on this project and will continue to assist them in future
growth opportunities.”
“It’s organizations like Rancho Poultry that prove our community is a
viable location for visionary companies looking for a prime geographic
location and an excellent workforce,” said Tom Lund, executive director,
Lebanon/Marion County Industrial Foundation. “We are proud to welcome
Rancho Poultry to the city of Lebanon and Marion County.”
